Kabir Muhammed - Rehman Motors
Motor Vehicle Apprentice Light Goods
I am currently doing level 2 Apprenticeship and I am employed at
Rehman Motors where I am being paid to learn. I want to continue
doing my course and progress on to level 3 Apprenticeship. After I
have completed my course I want to become a qualified MOT tester.
Being an apprentice is good as you learn on the job and you get
paid as well. I work 5 days a week and come to Mantra for one day
on Thursdays. Its good coming to Mantra once a week as it gives you
an opportunity to learn things on the theory side. This is good
because you will get more knowledge and understanding about cars so
I will gain more experience, when I finish this course I will be a
qualified mechanic.
My tutor Alan Wood and Training Advisor Tony McDade have really
helped me throughout the course by supporting me with any questions
or problems I have had. The course is ideal as I didn't know
anything about car when I started, but now I have some good
knowledge, I then look to become specialised Mechanic Electrician
as there isn't anyone in my employment currently. This interests me
because there are more modern cars which are coming into my
workplace with electrical problems instead of mechanical, I would
like to do this through Mantra. In the future I would like to be
the main mechanic in my workplace.
My next steps are to complete my Motor Vehicle Apprenticeship,
Advanced Apprenticeship, gain my MOT tester licence then start an
Electricians course.
