Courses and apprenticeships
At Mantra Learning we offer a wide range of learning
opportunities to an equally wide range of learners. Our
qualifications range from entry level, right up to Foundation
Degree level. (Click here for an explanation
of the qualifications framework.) The philosophy at Mantra is to
provide people from all walks of life with practical skills and
knowledge, enabling them to impact on business. Our portfolio
of courses is listed in the panel on the left grouped by subject
heading. The courses offered fall under the following
categories:
Short courses
We offer a range of short courses to develop skills and obtain
licences in LGV driving and fork lift truck operation. There are
CPC courses to obtain a Road Haulage Operator's Licence and Driver
CPC courses to obtain a Driver Qualification Card. And we run
practical courses on health and safety topics including first aid,
fire marshal and manual handling. The public runs of these courses
are available to book online. We can also deliver
these in company.
Qualifications
We offer work based learning qualifications in a number of
subjects to Level 2 and Level 3. These QCF credit based
qualifications have been designed by the relevant Sector Skills
Councils to national occupation standards to meet the skills
requirements of the sectors in which we operate. They equip
learners to apply knowledge, understanding and skills, thereby
proving competency in their job role.
Apprenticeships
Government funding for adult learning is moving more and more
towards the apprenticeships route. Adult apprenticeships can be
taken by learners of any age over 16. An apprenticeship is made up
of several elements:
- A competency qualification of the type described above
- A technical knowledge qualification
- Functional skills in literacy, application of number and ICT as
appropriate
- Personal learning and thinking skills
- Employment rights and responsibilities workbook
The qualifications and apprenticeships described above can
attract full or part government funding dependent on the prior
qualifications held by the learner, the age of the learner and the
size of the employer company. Please contact us for details.
