The programme
The Level 2 Certificate in Plant Operations equips staff with
the knowledge and expertise to operate lifting or access plant and
effectively within the workplace. It is a vocationally related,
credit-based qualification (QCF) that provides valuable
opportunities for individuals to develop skills, gain underpinning
knowledge and understanding and demonstrate competence in the
workplace. They will gain skills in safe and efficient use of the
plant and develop operational awareness.
The Level 2 Certificate in Plant Operations has been developed
by Construction Skills to meet the needs of industry and is based
on national occupational standards.
FREE forklift truck training
The funded Plant Operations Level 2 Certificate
for forklift truck operators now comes with up to
3 days refresher/conversion/experienced operator training free of
charge or a 5 day RTITB licence acquisition course for a novice for
only £120 plus VAT and upload fees.

Outcomes
The qualification aims to confirm occupational competence and/or
'licence to practice' in the operation of plant machinery that
carries out lifting and transferring activities in the workplace.
On completion of the programme successful learners will receive a
Level 2 Certificate.
Funding
Part or full Government funding is
usually available including funding for the FLT License. Employers
should also support learners by providing time for study.
Programme delivery
All Mantra Learning Training Advisors
are industry professionals who are specialists in the area in which
they teach and are members of the Institute for Learning.
Programme design
To achieve a full qualification, the learner must complete two
mandatory units achieving 5 credits, plus one optional unit
achieving a minimum of 21 credits in total for fork lift trucks, 17
credits for cranes and lifting plant and 17 credits for accessing
plant.
Assessment
The Mantra Learning Advisor will use a
range of assessment methods including observation, question and
answer, video, professional discussion and written reports. Their
visits usually take place once a month with progress assessed and
reviewed every three months or sooner if necessary. We also arrange
an Employer Review every six months to measure the impact on your
business.

- Logistics Operations Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3
