The LGV / HGV driver training course prepares learners to obtain their LGV Cat C1, C or C+E licence enabling them to drive goods vehicles over 7.5 tonnes.
Mantra Skills will provide the learner with all the skills and knowledge to become a professional Heavy Goods Vehicle driver. Our training follows a one-hour initial driving assessment so we get a good idea of how many hours will be required to achieve test standard.
Mantra Skills have been providing HGV driver training for over 30 years and have built up considerable experience of what works and what doesn't.
Mantra boasts two off-road manoeuvring pads built to Driving Standards Agency (DSA) specifications.
Mantra is also an approved centre for Driver CPC periodic training.
On completion of the course, learners will be ready to take a test to obtain their professional LGV driving licence and Driver Qualification Card enabling them to drive goods vehicles over 7.5 tonnes.
To acquire a licence the driver needs to complete all the stages listed below:
- Medical test
- Theory test
- Hazard perception test
- 1 hour pre-training assessment drive
- Driver training
- Driver CPC case studies
- Practical test
- Driver CPC practical demonstration
Opportunities for further development
