Anyone who has passed the previous National CPC and wants to
upgrade to International will have until December 2012 to pass the
International module.
The course
The requirement for goods vehicle operators to show evidence of
professional competence is contained in the Goods Vehicles Act
1995. Organisations operating goods vehicles over 3.5 tonnes gross
vehicle weight require an Operator's Licence. In order to apply for
an O-licence the licence holder must hold or have access to someone
who holds a valid Certificate of Professional Competence in Road
Haulage (CPC) qualification.

Learners will develop their knowledge of road haulage laws,
finance and road safety, helping to ensure a safe practice.
Employers will be complying with the "Goods Vehicle Operators"
Regulations of 1997, as well as improving their staffs abilities
and performance.
Outcomes
On successful completion learners will receive a Certificate of
Professional Competence. This means that they can now apply for a
Goods Vehicle Operators Licence and improve their chances of
success within an organisation.
