What
is First Aid Appointed?
Introduction
One
appointed person is recommended per 50 employees working
in a low risk environment. Under the Health & Safety
(first Aid) Regulations, 1981, every employer has a
responsibility to provide adequate first aid cover for
their employees. Mantra Learning’s first aid appointed
persons course is accredited by the Health and Safety
Executive (HSE).
Who
is it for?
The
first aid appointed persons course designed for a
beginner or basic knowledge of first aid training.

Health and Safety (HSE) Appointed Persons certificate
Content
The
course covers five core areas to achieve the first aid
appointed persons qualification, these are available
under the technical specification. In summary,
candidates would learn how to deal with an unconscious
casualty, burns, resuscitation and heart attacks.
Assessment
At
the end of the course candidates participate in a Q&A
session held by the instructor to test their knowledge
before returning to the work environment.
Duration
7 hour course held in centre.
Progression
Following first aid appointed training, employers could
build on their staff training needs by sending
candidates to train in first aid at work, fire marshal
or even manual handling with Mantra Learning.
