Electric cars won't budge

As the number of Electric Cars increases, so does the amount of breakdowns. This is obviously expected but it is not as simple as a normal breakdown. When electric cars breakdown they do not have the ability to coast, in the way regular cars do. This means that electric cars cannot simply be towed, they have to be put on a low-loader.

This poses big problems for the future logistics of the roads, with smart motorways already spreading over the country, the severity of the issue that could be caused by the breakdown of one vehicle could be massive.

Models that have been found to have this issue include the Tesla 3, Audi E-tron and Nissan Leaf. With major brands like these having the issues, it poses the question, will the manufacturers change their cars or will we gradually see the end to the towing of cars. Find out more here
