CASH INCENTIVES TO COMPANIES HIRING APPRENTICES.

Government funding has now been extended until the end of January. 

You will be able to apply for a payment of £3,000 for apprentices with an employment start date from the 1st October 2021 to 31 January 2022 once applications open in January 2022.

The grants will be £3,000 payment per hire, regardless of the apprentice’s age.

Employers hiring new apprentices aged 16 to 18 and those under 25 with an Education, Health and Care Plan can receive an additional £1,000 meaning a total of £4,000. 

HOW CAN EMPLOYER’S BENEFITS FROM THE NEW CASH INCENTIVE?

• Money can be spent on anything to support organisational cost i.e., uniforms or apprentice’s travel, or their salary. This is different to the levy scheme, and you do not have to pay it back.
• Payments are made in 2 equal instalments for each apprentice. First instalment is sent after an apprentice completes 90 days of their apprenticeship and the second is sent after 365 days.
• You may claim for more than one apprentice if each apprentice meets the criteria, and the incentive total is within the fund reservations that are available to you.
