We are delighted to announce that one of our members of staff, Keely Hadfield has been shortlisted for the final of Talent In Logistics Forklift Operator of the year 2020. We thought we'd have a chat with her to find out a bit more about the competition and herself. 

Keely found a natural talent for driving forklift trucks, after only passing her test in August 2019. Since then she has gone on to complete licenses for Counterbalance, Reach Truck, and Pivot Steer (Flexi). When we asked Keely about her reaction to being shortlisted she said:

"I was shocked as I don’t have years of experience on the trucks but I was happy and excited to give it my best"

We asked her what her best trick on an FLT was, she thought it would be best to show us...

It's not just Forklifts that Keely has found a passion for, she is an advocate for getting more females into the logistics sector. In Keely's first role in logistics she "was the only female driving a forklift truck in the warehouse". She hopes that by being successful in a national competition she can encourage other women to follow in her footsteps. Keely added.

"I think women can do the same job as men if not better and I think it would be good to see more women in logistics and get rid of the stereotypes of it being a 'mans' job."

The competition will be held at Talent in Logistics' Telford Headquarters in early September and an awards night will follow on the 1st of October. To register to watch the competition CLICK HERE.
