LGV Driver apprenticeship update
LGV Driver apprenticeship changes
Earlier this year it was announced that the LGV Driver apprenticeship standard would be changing, which will require LGV Driver apprentices to complete C+E training as part of the apprenticeship standard. We are expecting those changes to be rolled out and in place by the end of June, putting an end to the LGV Driver apprenticeship as we currently know it.
This announcement will be welcomed by those looking to train class 1 drivers within the industry, but for businesses looking to recruit and train class 2 drivers, this won't be well received as we still await clarity on the future of Cat C training through the LGV Driver apprenticeship standard. We are supporting businesses that operate fleets of Cat C vehicles only, with solutions to dealing with the changes.
