Logistics Boom Expected Over December
As the country endures a second national lockdown, online retail is expecting a £2.9 billion boom in sales during the lead up to Christmas.
During this year, many industries have been pushed to breaking point, with unemployment seeing distressing record highs and furlough leading to great uncertainty in the UK workforce. However, unlike other industries, logistics and online retail have seen great increases in business over the Covid-19 pandemic. This has led to the industry hiring at rapid rates to combat increases in demand.
Given that people are expecting large sale events, such as Black Friday, to be bigger than ever this year, despite the closing of most physical shops, logistics companies are already reporting concerns over delivery capacities and staffing. This means that logistics companies are hiring warehouse and delivery staff at record rates. With over 40,000 vacancies being reported within the logistics sector since September 2020, there has never been a better time to start looking at a career change, and exploring new career options.
This is where Mantra Learning is here to help. Mantra Learning has been training people for logistics careers for over 50 years, and we have seen great successes. This year alone, Mantra Learning, and its associated brand, The Job Gym, have trained over 1,500 people in various logistics pathways this year, such as Warehousing and Drivers’ CPC, and have seen many people go on to find lasting and meaningful work in these crucial sectors. Mantra Learning will help you back into work, and give you all the training and support you need to be successful in your efforts.
