Warehousing, like other Logistics sectors, went through major upheaval in 2020. This has meant that the warehousing is changing as we head into 2021. Here are the Top 5 warehousing trends predicted for this year. 

1. Online sales will continue to dominate logistics. Last year, online sales, at their peak, represented 36% of all retail sales. This trend is expected to continue into 2021. 
2. Net-Zero Logistics will also continue to be a priority for warehousing. In 2020, the first net zero warehouses were opened, with more scheduled for this year. Keeping carbon neutral will only become more important in the years ahead.
3. Internet of Things (IoT) will drive value in supply chains and help capture vast amounts of data. However, connectivity and integration will still pose difficulties for existing infrastructure. 
4. Warehouse automation could accelerate. As social distancing and remote working persist into 2021, the use of AI and robotics could increase to keep up with increasing demand. 
5. Covid-19 vaccines will continue to cause storage and transport issues for British Logistics. Cold storage and transport, as well as a synchronised distribution, represent key challenges that must be overcome.
