Along with welcoming 16-19-year-old apprentice learners last month, we are continuing to follow the government guidelines, and can gladly announce that Traineeship learners on our Pathway to Apprenticeship programme have started to return, for onsite learning; preparing them for progressing on to a paid work placement and apprenticeship. 

Changes have been made to our automotive training centre; ensuring learners and staff are able to follow social distancing guidelines. These measures have allowed both apprentice and trainee learners to return and learn in a safe environment, equipping them with valuable skills and behaviours to progress on with their career.

Through the Pathway to Apprenticeship programme, Trainees complete a blended mix of learning which includes both practical and virtual learning; covering industry-specific topics, developing digital skills, and exploring personal development. 

Trainees also receive a wealth of support through mentoring, employer matching, and access to our Alumni; as well as free registration to the IMI (automotive) and CILT (logistics), where they can access a range of career exploration resources. 

On a Pathway to Apprenticeship programme, Trainees receive over £1000 support: 

• A weekly bursary of £25 (unless claiming a work-related benefit) 
• Full travel expenses
• Free breakfast, lunch and refreshments when on site 
• Appropriate PPE clothing
• Free registration for IMI or CILT 
• Starter toolbox when progressing on to an apprenticeship in automotive 
• Tablet device when progressing on to an apprenticeship in logistics 
• £162 voucher for driving lessons when progressed on to an apprenticeship
